Uummm...... The gearbox is PRND32L It also has sport and econ switch and a winter button if this maters. As for the SEW bit, is this on the gearbox itself.
Was the 5speed fitted to the 850s aswel or the tdi v70. A fluid change is another job on my list of things to do.
So when all the mbc etc, if i do upgrade my nozzles will the standard turbo have enough gutsto run enough air in with the amount of fuel going in. I dont want to get to the point where compression ratio becomes an issue or it starts to compromise reliability. If i can comfortably reach between 180-200bhp and its still running nice and smooth then il be happy with that. I would consider useing a donor turbo as an upgrade but i dont think id want to go as far as stripping the engine and fitting lower compression pistons or changing conrods etc.

For a stock engine as you suggest new stock (bosch) nozzles will not increase fuelling but will increase the quality of the atomisation from a far better spray pattern. This would be my advice. I think 190bhp would be a fair target from this. Please do remember that increasing fuelling and boost WILL increase consumption of for no other reason than using the additional fuel.

You should also look at modifying the inlet tract behind the. Grille removing the snow guard and machining it out with a dremmel/rotoZip and replace the oe air filter every 5k. Also start with a new diesel filter.

190 from that is very very optimistic!, 175-180 bhp is nearer the mark.

That wouldn't be optimism that would be me not being able to type!

It meant to say "180 would be a fair target" from this.

I would also point out that does assume everything is in total working order. Pump timing is critical to this.

Also ONCE AGAIN you need to expect the possibility that anything that is not in 100% condition will be more likely to fail very soon after this tuning.

How have you achieved your stated 201bhp then martin, have you gone abit more hard core with the tuning, if you dont mind telling us.
So if i change my nozzles for new bosch ones, what actual ones am i looking for and is it just the nozzles changed along with the other mods we've talked about or is there anything else that needs to be done in order to run these nozzles.
This is why before a start doing my mods im spending money on belts and pullies etc, which is killing me cos ive been waiting..... and waiting....... and waiting for bloody ages lol.

The 201bhp involved bigger nozzles, a good amount of porting on both the turbo and head, and a very good custom tune.

When my next stage is complete (hopefully before Xmas) we shall be around 240 bhp and 350+ torque.

You have to put a lot of thought and effort into getting over 190 bhp. I absolutely maxed the standard nozzles at 191.4!
200bhp is not going to happen without spending lots as you need a better turbo, nozzles, bigger intercooler and associated pipework, 3" exhaust, stronger exhaust springs, custom ecu, custom tuning, head porting, inlet and exhaust manifold modifications, stronger rod bolts and a good clutch if manual (auto I wouldn't bother they don't handle the torque well).

That is where I'm at now (or nearly at I should say), plus a few things that shall remain secret lol.

Nah im not looking for that much work or expense, at least not rite now anyway. Have you seen the build on t5d5, a burgandy v70 d5 shape but tdi engine, its running at 300+ bhp.
I love my car and im defo not looking to kill it id just like it with a decent amout of power without any unexpected damage....fingers crossed but you get what i mean.

If you still want reliability I would go no further than either a box and mbc or a remap.
