Unhappy Rear wiper fixed but now counter clockwise

I followed the instructions and fixed the stuck axle. I have a left rear wiper that should go from left to right.
When testing it on the car it appeared that the wiper now goes from the 9 position on the clock counter clockwise to the 3 position and back. What did I do wrong?

Thanks, Henk

Red face Re: Rear wiper fixed but now counter clockwise

Problem now fixed. It turned out I assumed the rest position was on the left (9 o'clock position) but that was just the position it got stuck in. So I mounted the wiper on the right (3 o'clock) and all was fine.
Well, as the saying goes: assumption is the mother ...

Does anyone esle have the complete unit feeling loose although it works fine? Ours feels as if it will fall off. Lot of movement.

It might be a broken wire in the tailgate loom, at the hinge where it has to flex... simplest thing is to use a multimeter on the loom contacts where the motor plugs in and check you have a good ground and 12V on them.

I have recently taken mine apart and I have a worn white wheel.

If my memory of this is correct the last time this came up the answer was a definite no. Hardly surprising - they aren't supposed to be failing. Unless this has changed you best source is probably a scrappy bearing mind that it too may be affected.
I would suggest lubricating the spindles on these every two years and have a eye to the speed of the wiper - they generally give some warning of imminent seizure.
