All M90 knobs are the same. Almost impossible to find though as they tend to be sold with the box obv
Youll just have to take up drifting Steve

Oh well that's a tad worrying, that lever is an abomination and I dare say I will need to try all the breakers to try to find the holy grail. Probably end up having to buy a box just for the lever Cheers Steve PS - I have a feint hope that in his bags of parts in his shed he may have the original, when I viewed it, he couldn't recall what he had done with it. |

Just a thought, Steve ... Could you cut the lever down to an appropriate length and then die a thread on it to accept a suitable knob of your choice? I recall doing something along similar lines many years ago on an original Mini.
Regards, John.

The instructions below are from another Volvo site, but apparently come straight from VADIS. Here's a link to the special tool:
https://www.skandix.de/en/spare-part...uller/1072587/ There's currently a secondhand one on eBay in Germany a bit cheaper. Shift lever, replacing bellows (gaiter)/shift lever knob Special tools: 999 5560 The (upper) shift lever bellows (gaiter) design is different in the 960 and 940: the 960 bellows (gaiter) has a plastic frame, which the 940 does not have. Remove ashtray and undo bellows (gaiter) fastenings all round 960: Push front of bellows (gaiter) forwards so that the bellows (gaiter) frame fastenings come loose. Then push round on frame so other fastenings come loose. 940: Remove bellows (gaiter) from rubber bellows. Install extractor 999 5560 on shift lever Install underside of extractor against conical section of shift lever. Use the tool without the detachable sleeve. Tighten extractor bolts onto shift lever in turn and bellows (gaiter) will come away from lever Remove knob, bellows (gaiter) and tool. Install new bellows (gaiter) The locating stub on bellows (gaiter) ring must fit into the locating groove on shift lever. Push ring down until it reaches the lower locking groove. 960: Install shift lever bellows in tunnel bracket: press home hooks in front first, then snap fittings on side and rear. 940: Fasten bellows (gaiter) to rubber bellows all round. Install shift lever knob and ashtray Match locating lug on shift lever knob to guide groove on shift lever and push down to locking slot. A quick look at 850 forums suggests there is no non-destructive way of removing the gear knob without the puller. Armed with it you should be able to extract just the gear knob from a breaker manual M90 940, 960 or 850. Dependent on your appetite and facilities for DIY this wouldn't necessarily be the approach I'd favour. I seem to recall your saying, like me, you prefer the automatic gearbox. An alternative might be to:
