When i worked in a dealership we had one as a loan car and lent it out to an Irish chap who covered thousands of miles a week, he liked is so much he bought it.

When it had done about 350 000 he sold it to the service manager for £500, he then continued to use it and when the dealership closed the mileage was 435 000.

It had a bad incurable oil leak from the front main - the crank was so badly grooved and seals had been pushed in in slightly positions to overcome this over the years there just wasnt a good bit left.

Other than that it was still going strong...
We all know the TDI is nicely run in at around 200,000. Mines at 240,000 and goes well albeit the car is quite tatty. I have made a committment to myself to see it to 300,000 miles whatever it takes. Im sure a bloke on here has a TDI at around 400,000 miles too.

My 2.0 20v has approx 213,000 on it now. Running better than when I bought it at 184,000ish, Should do the amount of work I've done.

my '99 V70 2.5 10V has reached 145,000.

I've promised myself a 3 series touring when it dies, might be some time yet!

97 850 T-5 255,000 miles

Have had the 100K and 200K metal badges, but heard they aren't doing metal badges for high mileage club any more. True?

My T5 has clocked 242896 today on a 120 mile tripthrough Wocestershire.
Averages 30mg on a run and although even cuising at 85/90 on a trip to Devon.
Oil and filter change every 5000 miles and just had the cam belt done by Tim Williams at 230000 miles.
Tim said that the compression was good and the motor quiet at tickover and he put some new plugs in and the old ones were a nice sansy colour.

RICA map means that it spins wheels if I give it a big bootful but the car works for its living 15 to 18000 miles a year.
Eats tyres and super unleaded but only needed a handbrake cable at last MOT and a bulb the yeard before. No advisories.

PS my last 850 was still going strong at 274000 when I parted with it
