When possible, take out the pipe and give it a brass with silver at the leaking spot

I was originally going to braze it (I considered mig welding too hot) but nobody at work seems to know where the brazing rods went.

Gave the V40 a good clean and wax:)
I love to see old(er) cars looked after, so I thought I should probably sort out mine. Need some ramps to turn up now so I can give the undercarriage a good seeing to

I made it down to Cheltenham without incident, filled her up at bury at Edmund's and now I'm here I've only used just over a quarter of a tank, not bad at all I don't think, I've also seen at least 5 x40s on the journey, 3 of them had egg crate grilles, kinda want one now.

Had the clutch fluid feed pipe replaced, it had worn through against the AC pipe. Easy job, £20.

Not today but yday.
The diesel had some irritating jobs done. I got totally engrossed in her. Started with and oil/filter change. Then went onto the let's bleed the clutch while i'm here, that has'nt been done in the 10yrs i've had the car. Then went to let's sort the offside wiper out, it had got that bad that I had to physically push the wiper to the windscreen to get the bonnet down, using a dremmel like tool, ground away the inside of a washer, then the outside to the required size, sorted. Then finished off with trying to change some of the steering fluid, turkey baster to get fluid out the resevoir then refilled with new, will do that one in a week or so to change more fluid. Got the MOT later in the month for her.

Been busy today, ordered some more t4.2 wedge cob led bulbs in blue for in the AC panel above the radio and also the headlight switch (despite the differing part numbers the bulbs fit both positions) although all three bulbs sockets in the headlight switch are dead, but as the multi plug for the headlight switch itself is right there I can just solder onto the back of the new bulbs and feed them from one of those ignition lives, perfect, that or i can use some of the T5 wedges that I also ordered in blue led flavour for the Speedo and rev counter, as I've just checked what the dash bulbs are, stupidly after I already ordered the t5s and they're not the same, although look similar enough to potentially work ok.
Then while I was there with the light switch and vent out I grabbed the tin snips, made a round hole in the vent and put the boost gauge there, far better placement than down by the radio, plus the connector I mentioned with lives in it? Ideal to feed the blue back light in the gauge, the final job will be to find a suitable screw to sort the wobbly steering wheel storks out, oh, and to refit the plastic clear panel on the clocks as it just unclipped itself and fell out, plus on a side note, I swear I was able to remove the dash cluster on my p1 by just removing the steering cowl and dropping the steering wheel to the lowest position on the adjuster, not so on the t4 it seems, not enough room, access is tricky but the bulbs can be got to, just about.

I'd fitted some LED H7's but on checking at night, there was no beam pattern cut off. Back to the 100w H7's in the dipped lamp.
Then on to replacing the left and right CV joints. Stripped out, to find the ones supplied were too big by 1.5mm on the hub drive spines....back in the box. Oh well bite the bullet, change my VVT that I've had nearly 2 years. I bought a cam locking kit but it wasn't the most engineeringly accurate parts for locking the rear cam positions. I had to hunt around for 2 long bolts to hold on the locking tools which should be in the kit. Change the oil and filter using 0w30. PS...the rattle has gone from the engine so it's been worthwhile.
