OOOh Shiny!

I fitted a roof mounted aerial to my 850 estate today, bit scary drilling the roof, but it was easy, pity Halfords aerials are ****e and the connector that bolts onto the aerial base fell apart. I knew I should have got one from a V40 in a breakers! Still, radio reception is vastly improved now!

Drove to Oxford to pick up a high backed orthopaedic chair whilst giving the 940 an Italian tune up :-) So if you saw a blue rocket whizzing past you with an old persons chair on board, twas me :-)

Not car but Motorbike.

Yesterday Morning:
Dawn raid including breakfast at Loomies, then hightailed it home before the idiots hit the road.

Yesterday afternoon:
Stripped-out the Airbox, completely removed all the flapper valve gubbins then gave her a couple of laps of my local test track (the induction noise is even better now ....superb) Ahead of a Custom remap (being picked-up tomorrow) to suit.

Re flapper valve:
I had previously cable-tied the valve open (as per flapper valve mod) then had her custom mapped a good few years ago...she pulled 130.2bhp and had very strong mid-range and top-end (for a 929) according to the Dyno operator.

It will be interesting to see how she performs now, As the last time she was on the rollers was not long after I got her (So I'd guess it was about 10 years ago, I'd have to have a look on my old graph to check the date)

Same Dyno btw.

Got rid of a long time squeal from the rear brake pads of my EBC brakes... The green stuffs are great for performance but christ, the squeal from behind even at the slightest touch of the brake gets on your nerves...

So last night, when everybody else was snug as a bug in a rug in their beds, I was out and raided the country roads a little. Accelerate to 100 km/h, emergency stop nearly till halt and then again instantly hard acceleration to 100 km/h again and again hard braking and again accelerating... 5 times. Stopped, got out quickly and saw that the discs were glowing red and the rear pads had a few little flames goming off them

Brake fading was noticeable after the 4th braking but I didn't give in until I felt happier Also, it is really amazing how great these brakes can grab and hold the car. The original Volvo pads and discs were okay but this is just amazing... And as I will soon be going to 16" up the front (instead of 15" brakes) I guess I'll soon be standing within a few meters... Volvo claims 36 m for all C30s... Would be nice to get under 30 m Who cares about acceleration...! I can stop within the length of an A4 page of paper!

Doesn't bother me... If he hits me, it is his own fault...

PS: Every meter in stopping distance I can save, will save my life. If I drive and see an accident happen right in front of me while I'm driving 100 mph (160 km/h) legally, I want to be able to stop before I hit the accident section...
