Evo,

Yes the washers are in the same place. There is a cut out line on the inside of the bumper for the washer jet covers. You can use your old covers from the old bumper if you have them. Think I used a small fine saw or stanley cutting from the inside of bumper.
You need to change the front headlamps too, lower skirt and grilles - as part of new bumper, fog lights are different too. I have extensive pics in some of my earlier posts.

I just used a dremel to cut out the pre-defined holes for the washers.
like a knife through butter!!!

I'm just waiting to collect my 2500/3000 grit sandpaper to finish my respray.
This stuff is hard to find!

I've looked at CCFL angels for my dipped beam surrounds.
Seems the really nice versions are not supplied with a mounting kit.
I'm advised to us stainless steel craft wire or some sort of epoxy heat resistant glue such as Loctite 499.....hmmmmm, I'm not convinced!

Alternatively there are LED rings but LED's have different challenges.
They are not friendly to warm environments and, they suffer with incorrect voltages. LED's really need to be SMD's otherwise they're too dim.

You can get LED strips and mount them behind the plastic bezel and against the body of the glass lens holder but, potentially you'll need to install a form of heat shielding otherwise they'll expire pretty quickly.
Again, you need a small voltage controller to improve the life of the LED's.

I'm looking in to sourcing a spare grill for the front bumper and having a go at making a Heico style (thanks for the idea Jonnie) grille.
Just a bit limiting in the availability at the moment.

But first things first, I'm still one fog light short and a bit of paint on my front bumper splitter before I can finish the installation at the front.

I sold my R design one on Ebay a good few weeks ago for £50! as new

We could have done a swap for a bi-xenon headlamp for example...

Regarding my pre-2008 foglights fitted to the post-2008 bumper (My bodge earlier in this thread!) (Hey - I'm cheap alright!) I found that whenever I turned them on I blinded everyone - I found today that fitting them upside-down (in the opposite side) points them down at the road!

I know getting the correct ones is the proper thing to do, but the point of my project was to not spend much money!!

On this bumper does the lower spliter come away from the bumper? As I'm looking to chance my 2.0D with its hidden exhaust tip to that of a D3/4/5 with twin exit holes. Do you know if the lower spliter just clips on and off the whole bumper or am I going to need a whole new bumper?

(See page 5, post 46 for pictures)
