Paint protection review......

http://www.myaudiq5.com/index.php/to...-it-worth-250/

Pays your money, takes your choice but I don't think I'll bother with a dealer applied coating. Will probably do it myself but, if folk don't have the time or inclination, a specialist indy is probably better than a time pressed dealership with tired equipment constantly used for service customer valets?

Regards

Not going to disagree - have to say that any car with privacy glass is classified as a gangsta car in my vocabulary, plus it make the kids (and adults) in the back sick

Default Does privacy glass = Gangsta Car?

Folks,

My last car was an XC90. I didn't specify privacy glass from new and always regretted it. The dealer said they could retro fit but that's just the sticky film so 'no thanks'. Personally, I thought the XC90 looked better with the privacy glass.

So now we're waiting on our new XC60 r-design lux. And we've specified privacy glass. Had a short moment of uncertainty. But I think it looks rather good on this model.

I guess it's a personal taste. But I'm not a gangsta! Far from it, maybe I have suppressed gangsta tendencies?

I have ordered cars with privacy glass for years.
In certain body colours it looks good and helps to keep out of sight, items carried in the back.
Also, I think it helps to keep the interior cooler, in sunny weather.

We have also ordered it for years....works great and well, on some cars it does look a bit pimped out I guess.

Some of the cars we've had it on. None are aftermarket and all factory fit btw (although I see on the pics that some angles make it look like the fronts are done and/or extremely dark).

Default Privacy glass & My Volvo site

Folks, very reassuring on the privacy glass front. Nice pics NewVolvo. Best wishes from Scotland to Northern Germany!

The dealer has confirmed the revision to my order - addition of Premium Multimedia Sound, remote & subwoofers.

The order number now works on the MyVolvo site and we're now in business

13 weeks is what Volvo estimate so sometime in March. Whizzed around the website functionaility and will revisit it to check when things change and the countdown of the Volvo 'clock' to deliver!

Lookin' good.

I must admit I do tend to order factory tints nowadays, sometimes for looks but also practical reasons, it reduces glare and temperatures inside the car during the summer months and always reduces visibility from outside wandering eyes, means I can more happily keep things in the boot, on the back seat etc without always having to cover up. Is it going to stop a determined thief, no, but peace of mind and for simplicity it works well with tints.

Also, good call on premium sound with the subwoofer, I've got it in my XC60 and must say after a bit of tweaking the sound is pretty good, better than anything I have in the house so I do find myself turning it up rather loud when sometimes out and about, enjoy!
