The steering in the 360 is fairly heavy - coulda done with PAS, and a little more zip would have been nice - maybe they should have put the 2.3 lump in...

the little flap that covers the boot lock pivots from the bottom..so it catches and traps all the crud in there, hence periodically stopping the boot lid from unlocking on the button untill the lot has had a good flushing through with Silkopen

why doesn't it pivot from the top? it would prevent this little foible

1996 850 T5

Two things I know I should and could sort (or at least have a go at), but they still bug me until i do....

1. Estate Hydraulic Pistons have 'gone' - very painful on bonce

2. Rear side windows in the estate misting up and very reluctant to de-mist

3. Why do the A/C and 'recycle air' buttons have the little lights switched on when the systems are 'off'?

Cheers,

John

XC60 2.4D AWD SE Lux - that you had to pay extra for the CD multi-changer or USB kit. I ask you, £75 on a £40K car - come on Volvo - FIT THESE ITEMS REGARDLESS !

Time to add a bit more... this time about a 1997 S70 2.5 20v Manual

Like: Nicely insulated, good handling for it's size, everything works and it doesn't feel like its covered 145k miles, great in snow, big improvement in steering feel compared to 900 series, excellent standard stereo system. Lots of in-car storage, and general space.

Dislike: Horn doesn't work without ignition on (wtf), pedals etc feel soft and muted, engine lacks refinement above 5000rpm, turning circle average, colour coded bumpers easily scraped, switches near the steering wheel obscured from the driving position - hard to tell what's on/off. Beige interior - steering wheel in this colour wears badly. Although nice to drive not exactly 'engaging'

1994 850se2.0 litre. Only used to transport Herself's electric buggy, and the dogs. We like it quite a lot, but the lack of traction is an absolute pain.I'm seriously thinking about getting rid because of this problem. No matter how gently I try, it can get stuck on damp grass. And as for the snow we've got at present, well, it's somewhere handy to keep the shovel.
A nice car spoiled by this major problem.

1993 850GLT Auto I can honestly say having had 2 460's, 2 240's, a 260 and now the 850 which i paid peanuts for, I love the 850, it's great in fact one of if not the best car I've ever had. I've been driving 15 years and I'm now on my 40th car.

Fit it from a late car. It's not at all hard.

See above (substituting 'late car' for 'early 940 with 2.3 NA and nice engine management').

cheers

James
