Any ideas on that?

There is mention on a thread close by to do with tuning chips.
The RICA remap, if used alongside the companies own Softloader unit will allow you to remove and reload the tuning remap at your leisure, there is no log on the cars ECU whatsoever, for this reason alone this is the best option to gain power unless you consider the 20BHP the Polestar map offers good value for money.

The 200BHP XC90 does not have a Polestar map on it, it has a standard Volvo map, Polestar will release a map for the 200BHP model but I can't see it offering more than 225BHP

Thanks, think I'll sick to my 197.13205bhp as standard. Don't think £600 or thereabouts for 25bhp is value for money.

The 2012 DOES NOT have Polestar fitted standard. Volvo changed the specification

Later on in the year the MY12 Software should be released, also it will make the XC90 D5 do 0-60 in under 10 seconds!

sounds good. its amazing they are so far behind the X5 which can do it in the 7's for a 3litre diesel. my xc90 needs a big hill and tailwind to get under 10 at the moment

Interesting. It's still the same old lump though, so is it back to 185bhp?

As Polestar are under long term contract to Volvo I would still expect them to be helping with the D5 mapping. Or has something happened to cause a rift between them?

It is 200bhp D5 engine, still the same lump overall. I don't know exactly what was changed for the extra 15bhp

Polestar have worked with Volvo since 1996 and will continue to work with Volvo.
There is no rift between them at all, Polestar collaborate with Volvo using their expertise to produce the optimisation for the the cars.

When it went from 185bhp to 200bhp Clan told us it was because it had been given the Polestar mapping and that no other changes had been made.

As a matter of interest Keiran, does the new twin turbo 215bhp D5 fit in the C30?

I can confirm Polestar had to involvement in the extra 15bhp. That was solely Volvo.

Tbh I can't answer if the new one does fit Roy, I havnt looked into it or thought about that, but it is a good question which I'll try and find out

Just had the polestar upgrade on my 2011 xc90 r design d5 - up to 205 hp and 450nm.

Can't say I notice a huge difference around town, but it is definitely better when you want to overtake etc.

Cost here is sweden is around £900 though - so £650 in the uk is much better value!

Plenty of folks offer a 200HP remap for much less.. Though mine is a 2005.. and the gearbox lag is still there...Only thing that's a realy PITA with the car...
