The dim bulbs in the full beam section of the headilght are the same type as the side markers, 501 push-in.

I replaced mine with 501 4 x SMD LED's (side markers and side lights), so they have a much crisper light output.

The car has passed the MOT two years in a row, with these fitted and without any comment or issue.

This link would get you the type of bulbs required for side lights and side markers.

I just saw these on ebay:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Osram-Nigh...item35c2b7e822

A bit extreme, as they are gold plated, instead of silver, but give no more light than the standard ones and cost twice as much.

Not sure what they would look like, with the gold cap against the silver reflectors.

Thanks, I was thinking about these 'limited edition' ones too, however thought that there's no point as they give the exact same amount of light as the normal Nightbreakers and like you said cost twice as much.

I think I'm going to buy mine from Euro Car Parts as they have a 25% discount offer on at the moment -so the total price for a pair of Nightbreaker Plus are £13.49!

Have a look on ebay first.

You can get a pair for £10.95 inc. carriage!

I have a spare pair in the shed, just in case and a pair of standard H7's in the boot.

Don't know why I didn't just put the Osram's into the wheel well instead!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone, I ended up changing the pair to Ostam Nightbreaker Plus, bought from Euro Car Parts as I needed it to be fixed fairly soon. At the same time, I have also done the fog light modification -enabling the left fog light to work as well. Not only does it look even now, but much safer and brighter. I just cannot understand why they didn't come from the factory with both enabled??!!

I have driven the car tonight and have been very pleased with the bulbs.

I have now also turned off the daytime running lights, so hopefully it won't be draining the bulbs when it wasn't necessary.

Thanks again,

Just orderd a pair of them that is a bargain price, and as for the side lights i agree with the 501 LED bulbs they give a real brighter look to the car.
