May be a red herring this one, but I had a starting problem on my old 1994 940 B200FT - it would fire up instantly then stall. Restarting it had it running normally - it only happened the first time I tried to start it in the morning.

My problem was the fuel pressure valve on the main (under cabin) fuel pump which was allowing fuel to drain away from the fuel rail over night. I replaced the pump (you can't get the valve separately) at a cost of £60 IIRC, and that cured it.

Its not quite the misfire you described, but it might be worth thinking about - check your fuel rail pressure first thing in the morning before you try and start her up.

As above ,check the state of the leads ,plugs ,dissey cap and rotor arm, they
suffer from damp and dirt, as hiden at the back of the head it dose not get looked at often ,esplicy if the leads/cap are orginal.
when you stoped the car there was probley just enugh heat from the exzust
to dry the leads a little and stop the missing, then when it got gooing the car burnt off the unburnt fuel.
The other thing that I have come acros on b2xx engines is a simler fault caused by dampness from the first sines of head gaskit problems,
usaly about 125k-150k.
Of cause it could be some thing else compleatley, but those are the two
that I have come acrose.

Regards Roger

Sorry to say,but it sounds like the start of a blown cylinder head gasket, water in bore(s) on first start, turned to steam on second.
