That's one downside I guess but at the end of the day just turn the volume up as it's no different to the noise it would make if you were actually playing a cassette

I've been thinking of doing this for a while - your post has now got me thinking much more positively about it - thanks. It does seem a simpler solution than the CD changer input. It could be that some of the lines on the riser could be cut so that the motor doesn't run - maybe "MOT-CONT" and eject disabled with "EJECT-SOL" perhaps. Although the HU still needs to think a tape is present - that could be "RUN-DET" (run detect I'm guessing). But I could be wrong........Do let us know how you get on. Regards.

when i say you hear it, it is only when there is no music, inbetween tracks, it is not loud otherwise, and you dont need to turn up the music to drown it.

it is also a LOT cheaper than the Blitzsafe etc too. thay can cost upto £70. this way, it costs about £4 for the price of a phono lead, and a bit of solder, plus you get to keep the Changer connected.

in that post, it was fitted using the wired FM modulator. While adequate, this Hack allows me to use the AUX instead giving a better sound

An 8Gig mp4 player will hold most peoples complete music collection. Why bother having a CD changer at all if all you need is access to change the track on the mp3? Would be worth considering disabling the cassette and or the multichanger in this case. This has made me think about just having all my music on one player and forget about ye olde worlde compact discs.

The only possible issue is that with my stereo, it knows it doesn't have a multichanger pluged in, so what makes it think there is one there? It might need to be fooled into thinking it is there?! I hope that makes sense to everyone!?!? Niall
