Gary, engine temp is rarely a problem on the dyno even with a small fan so your car won't overheat. The only problem with a small fan is high intake temps, which simply result in reduced power, which is done automatically by the ECU for safety and is nothing to worry about.

It seems there's going to be a few there. I can't wait.

I've got a new turbo, manifold and downpipe for my T5. They were supplied by Nigel when I bought the car from him and came off his R.

I was going to fit them fairly soon but figure I'm better off waiting until after the PE RR day so I can see what she does now with a knackered turbo. Then, come the next RR session I can return and see if there's any difference with the bigger (and less worn) turbo, manifold and downpipe fitted.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Andy

er , id thought id posted some results , its up to others to post theirs since i dont have their dyno sheet!

My own 740 turbo , peaked about 180hp ie std but 220 ft/lbs torque , which is why it feels much quicker on the road -especially with some of the guys tring to keep up , the reason is my chip is hard coded for 14/15 psi boost so , if it doesnt run that it runs rich ie loss of power . i cant do that on the road because of spiking which cause pink/det so i have to run less boost , that could be something to do with a higher compression when the previous owner had the head skimmed , ive also got a problem with the AFM , since sometimes it will stall because theres a dodgy wire , a quick fiddle and itreturns to normal - so ill sort those issuses out and return - which should see the power up about 210/220 hp .
