Q. The chassis member, the one that the front crossmember is bolted to can be kinked by the leverage of the crossmember if the wheel/suspension is hit. There is also the possibility that the area where the chassis member mates with the bulkhead has some rust issues. There is a rust trap there. This can weaken the area and might allow the chassis member to pe pushed back even if it didn't actually kink it. Is the A to B post relationship still good? i.e. Does the door still open a shut properly with no change to the panel gaps? If you've lost the gap at the rear of the door the A post has moved back. If the movement is small and there are no other problems that can usually be corrected with a Porto Power or similar. Just the wing might have been pushed back so that might not be an easy check if it is touching the door.
You might be able to do some basic measuring against your spares car but you'd would need a helper. Thin electrical wire better than stretchy string. Post a pic if you dare! |

Does not appear to be any damage to the A pillar. Only worry at the mo is I might have bent the chassis as the steering box etc is broken/out of line. |
