another thought I haven't read the whole thread, but I have heard of some ABS repair companies who are less than able to actually repair modules. could it be that they didn't actually repair the module in the first place.

Steve, have you not tried to source a copy of Vol-Fcr?
https://www.ilexa.co.uk/diagnostic-t...-coverage.html I've installed the software on my notebook, just waiting on this cable to arrive http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1820522045...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT This will read the ABS codes and also reset the annoying service light. edit: Actually it appears not recommended for 99 models. Mines 98 so I'm ok :-) You need to source a copy of Volvo dice. there are copies on fleabay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLVO-VIDA...YAAOSwYmZXFZU4 Last edited by DannyDier; Jun 18th, 2016 at 20:49. |

My mistake !
Aaargh I went back to check things through and noticed that I had forgotten to connect the two pin connector (power?) to the ABS module. I had connected the multi connector (with the cover) but not the two pin. Lights were out when I next started the engine and ABS now works as expected. Thanks for your input. Thanks also to Lukas at www.volvodiagnostic.com for the module repair work. Steve
