Default Now sold!

Well done James hope someone gets the enjoyment that you had owning this fine example. And for £786.54 thats £136.54 on top of your original price.
Lets hope someone on here bought it or if not that they join so we can see a bit more of it.

Just hope it doesn't turn up at a mega inflated price being sold as "one of the last true classics".We already know that but it always seems to add a few hundred quid to it.
Regards Brian.

A 200 limo has got to be ultra rare in this country. You absolutely must rescue it if the owner lets it go.

Hi all!

It's was my wife who bought James' 240, we're looking forward to picking it up soon - weather permitting!

It will certainly be looked after and used daily, so I will definitely be after some advice in the future from the guys on the forum. We have a modern Honda which my wife uses but she insisted I needed the use of a car as I ferry the kids around on the train to nursery etc. in the mornings and she decided to go for a 240 much to my delight, my last car was a 1990 Mercedes 190E, which I spent loads of time getting back to original condition (was attacked by a boy racer!) and before that I had a A1 Condition 1975 XJ6 Coupe - I loved that car and was gutted to let it go but we moved to a house with no garage so it had to go (couldn’t let it sit on the road), even more gutted when it went to auction recently and sold for £11K, I sold it for a fraction of that, could say I got eBay'd. Never mind.

Looking forward to owning a classic Volvo, and owning another car I can actually work on without plugging it in to a laptop!

Cheers

Dave

Hi James you are kidding aren't you!! Just look under my name and tell me what you see?

I have always wanted a stretched 240 and would love an estate or saloon version,I'm not fussy.
PLEASE PLEASE get some piccies for me to drool over,And if you decide it's not what you want then can I have first dibs and I'm serious too.
Kind Regards Brian.

Those mythological '245 transfers' are PROPER Volvos! Imagine how much stuff you could get in the back of one. Ideal for going camping.

BTW, do a google search for '245 transfer' for more pictures of the looong 240 estates.

Interesting link...

The school transporter version seats up to 11 children! Holds all people-carriers to shame.

Its a Saloon in silver with blue velour interior. There does sea to be a bit of rust about the place, door bottoms etc. Life is pretty hetic for me a the minute, what with selling my GLT, trying to finish my defender 90 project, finishing the extension on the house and onther baby arriving any day now, i may be a few weeks before i can get back have a good luck at it, take some pictures and have chat with the owners. The only thing i do know is the people who own it have no interst in doing anything with it, but will they part with it. Ill keep you posted, cheers Jim.
