S/V/C 70 - Projector lights
I have got myself a set of the following headlamp upgrade for my C70 from partsforvolvo online as my current set are suffering from pitting and a growing crack on the lens.
Looking at them, they look good but I am having doubts if I have made a mistake opting for the chrome finish rather than the black. I have seen many darker coloured 70 cars pictured with the black projectors and due to the darker paint they look good. I wanted to avoid the 'boy racer lights' look, hence opting for the chrome as its appears closer to the OEM look but I just can't be sure if the black would suit better or not. So, if anyone had a light coloured 70 model (my car is Silver) or a colour as close to Silver as possible, can you post up any pictures if you have the same style lamps in either the chrome or black so I can gauge a realistic view of both. Or if anyone could photoshop a 70 model front end with the chrome and projectors I'd appreciate that.

What will look wrong is silver headlights and dark indicators or visa-versa. Its a personal choice between silver and black just make sure the lights AND indicators are the same.
Her indoors old astra mk4 was black metalic and i changed the lights to black from silver, the sri, gsi etc had black lights and it made the car look meaner, well as mean as a mk4 astra could look. I think if you got the black lights the next time you looked at it you'd be thinking how chrome the grille looks and how you could make it darker. Not to mention the foglights and the numberplate. |

And don't forget to add in the rear lights for good measure: Hope that helps, the V70 is a Silver/ Gold colour depending upon the lighting conditions when you look at it, I decided on the Black projectors and indicators as I thought the silver ones a little too bright (each to their own though on style related issues) - Mike |

mantadave - I ensured I purchased the matching indicators so have the entire set as a whole rather than having mis-match items.
Thanks guys, thats helped me make my mind up. Whilst the black items appear to suit darker coloured cars very nicely (IMO), I think I will keep with my chrome items as they appear to retain a closer OEM look on a silver coloured car.
