When my 960 had the headgasket replaced at 206K miles, I was told you could still see the honing marks on the bores.
All they need is a regular oil change.

If only cars weren't fashion accessories or supposed reflections of aspiration or affluence we would be viewing them as long term purchases and expecting 500K at least out of then before changing.................... |

I suspect a lot of cars get changed due to poor dealer maintaince affecting their drivability, so new cars seem a lot more pleasant to drive. Roy

I think that is Irv Gordons main point if you want a car to do big miles you really have to love it. He wasn't expecting such incredible durability.

Yes of course you would need to. I enjoy my Amazon because I don`t drive it all the time. Makes it more fun a special treat.

I think Irv must almost live in his car. Must give you a different mindset living in such a big country I guess. In the UK we have to spend far to much time in traffic for driving to be as enjoyable I think.

Wow, he is doing big miles.
2 600 000 miles in a 41 year old car = 63 415 miles per year. Gosh thats an average of 5284 miles a month which on a weekly basis is 1320 miles a week! 1320 miles a week. Reckon he should get his back checked out to see if the lumber support works long term. Matt
