IIRC some of the bonnets (possibly 760) are also aluminium. I remember discovering that the tailgate was aluminium when I tried sticking a magnetic L-plate to it. Had to tape it to the back window instead. Fortunately the roof is made from steel so the triangular box thing was able to go on the roof.

Yeah sorry, its the hatchback.

Apparently, they're a fair bit more powerful than the volvo ones. I guess its a much larger tailgate to keep open.

Yes the 940 tailgate is Aluminium as ably demonstrated when trying to fit magnetic GB sticker, had to call into halfords last year on my way to France.

The mondeo strut have a lot of lift be careful as it will lift quite quickly.

Default Euro Car Parts

Just got a pair of struts for my 740 from Euro Car Parts.
Less than £8 each and arrived the next day. Same brand as Rover OE I notice.

Would the saloon struts be the same as the estate ones by any chance?

I doubt it. Totally different weight to carry.. Ant they are different lengths.

They list both Anschler and Boge gas struts for the 945. Anyone know which are better?
Thanks,

Thanks for the info on the mondeo struts. Looking through ads for mk2 struts though they usually ask whether or not the car has a spoiler, presumably indicating there are two types. Anyone know which to get?

I just ordered some Boge struts from Eurocarparts for £21.74 ea, but they sent Meyle, supposedly 'OEM' quality.

Felt like sending them back, but couldn't be bothered! I gather Meyle is a German parts distribution co, and parts are probably made in China.

Seem springy enough now but hope they last! I should have got a quote from Rufe first!!
