  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

That looks more like the cladding from inside your silencer box, probably pushed out under pressure after the baffle has corroded away.

Very interesting problem, I did figure there was a fuel supply problem and thought about suggesting you try a new hair filter and check for hair in the fuel lines. Please don't use this hairy story as a reason to sell your car, as the 1.9D is a popular V40 and it would then be a case of hair today and car gone tommorow!
Looking at the pictures though, I suspect this could be the first new case of Bio blackworm to be reported in Blighty.

That is not a hair! I had the same stuff at the bottom of fuel filter housing ( I haven't posted video yet, but I will do that soon)

It's the same stuff that comes out of filter from the washing machine. I am guessing that it is small bits and pieces from the fuel filter, over time the loose threads builds up making that stuff (sediment).

Really? It looked and felt just like a clump of hair from a hairbrush. If you have seen the same, that's weird stuff! I'll look forward to see the video when you post it.
