Can anyone else comment as to what else to look out for particularly on 2003/2004 2.4 D5 SE models of XC90's? I am contemplating changing my V50 2.0 D for an XC90, but wanted some opinion/comments! also, which model is best to go for geartronic or manual? manual gives better consumption?

I have seen a few and priced a few, seems to be 2003 plates vary from 9995 - 13k, there is one I really fancy 77k, decent history priced at 9995, to me this seems slightly cheap?

The manual is nice to drive only problem you need a 3rd leg for the foot parking break , Manuals are very rare too so you might not be able to find one . budget for rear wheel bearings and a rear brake overhaul if you are buying blind , otherwise a road test and check for a droning from the rear , and try pressing the parking brake at 10 mph in neutral and see if it slows you down ... oh and check the awd pull away sharply on wet grass or gravel and get someone outside to look to see if the rear wheels tend to spin as well as the front .
