I know someone who also changed their wheels and and chipped ther motor and didn't tell the insurance company. They had an accident and wrote their car off and guess what?......Yep you're right, the insurance company refused to pay out and he is now £13,000 out of pocket. OUCH!
You are sh!ting me Lee, that is taking the ****. Sorry about that. I told my insurance about putting your wheels on mine and they said because they are Volvo wheels they said no charge. For the BBS wheels they charged £25 for a separate cover for the wheels.

Hi Will, good to hear from you again. No, my insurance company really did charge me for your old(?!) alloys, I thought they were taking the p**s too but what can you do? Not a problem though as I always shop around when it's renewal time and won't be with them next year. I haven't fitted my R-Design steering wheel yet as I'm worried what they'll charge me for that too!

How you getting on with the Medusa wheels? Have you refurbed them yet? I think they would look great done in a gun metal grey finish.

Haven't heard any helicopters around the area for a while, did you decide on a place?

We only flew down the one day as we wanted to get a better look around the area and we also went out to look at a place in Jersey. We were back down there last Wednesday and put an offer of 3.25 on the newbuild on Haig Ave.

As for the wheels, haven't done anything with them yet.

Its very unusual for an insurance company to refuse to pay out totally, there are laws to prevent them doing that except for very specific reasons, what they normally do is pay out to a lesser extent and then refuse you any more cover.

It goes on file and insurers always ask you if you have been refused cover, and you will find your premiums at least double if you have to admit thats the case.

It's entirely up to you, but maybe to be on the safe side it would be a good idea to at least ask them but once you do it's on the record and WILL be checked in the event of an accident.

You may be surprised as they may not even charge you for such a minor change (there's always hope!!).

As they say, "The choice is yours!", to tell or not to tell.

Let us know what they say if you do tell them.

I feel this is just something they are doing to get a little more money from you. If its a small broker I'd be worried that they are about to go under!

On a personal note I tent not to bother. Say it was something from when you got the car or say it was factory install and play dum to it.
I'm with you on that chief, it's exactly what I said 3yrs ago..........hey presto pay out in full and not responsible for the accident.

Planned mods are custom remap, tinted windows, larger alloys, lowered suspension and different turbo.

The good ones are out there u just need to search for them.

Just for the record they came in approx £100 cheaper and includes full european breakdown cover
Who you using mate?
