Just looked at the car you're interested in, looks very nice. Thought I'd mention that I have a 14 Plate se auto that I bought new and have 46k on the clock. It is the best car I've ever had, so comfortable and great mileage and most importantly No Problems. You won't be disappointed if you buy a XC60.

Nice car and don't shoot me down if you do want a FWD but you do realise it's the FWD model?

Am I right in thinking the XC60 shares its platform with the Freelander 2? Much else in common?

Looks good and price seems good too. I have had mine for 14 months now. It's a D5, AWD and with Polestar chip and had done 39000 when I bought it. Your price for Road Tax and mpg are very good. On a run I can get 43mpg otherwise mid 30's. I like the colour. Splash out and I don't think you will be disappointed. I love mine which is a 2013.

No... rear drivetrain of XC60 was used on the Ford Kuga AWD models and the FL2 used the TF80 gearbox.

Looks a really nice car, if you are not needing AWD. On that later edition, SE lux are the models to have, active bending xenon lights which are superb and clear TFT instruments. I think that will be a 2015 model year.

Four matching Pirelli’s are a sign of good maintenance.

I don't think so, the rear suspension on the FL2 is very different, can't quite remember what the front is like.

Wikipedia says it does share the "Ford EUCD platform" but from memory they look different underneath.

However if you look at a Land Rover/ Range Rover electric seat of the same vintage - you will recognise the switches!

Just to add my humble opinion.
I have recently bought a 2011 x 60 d5 awd on 144000 miles to replace a 2002 v70 d5 which I really did not want to sell but couldn't keep both. I loved the v70 and put 110000miles on it with very few problems . The xc60 is much nicer to drive being a 205 bhp twin turbo . The build quality of the interior is not as good as the 20 year old v70 but that's what we have to accept these days. Do I regret selling the v70 ,yes. Do I love the xc60,yes.

Derek.
