Not sure if you are sorted or not. However there should only be one on the driver's side. The mark on the pillar trim is so the trims are universal for LHD/RHD.

My pillar trim is cloth, original to the car, has the little indent same as the driver's side and no clip. Personally I think it would look odd having a clip both sides, as happy diver said, Blue badge maybe.

I might end up that way lol, but i will get a photo of my trim, some thing was there(?). Should have one coming soon enough, i will use it 'cos its good for bridge money so i can pass it to SWD (she who drives) not hold it!
Or a parking permit

Is that what lives in the little hole that's on the pillar a ticket clip. I often wondered why there is a hole there and the other side has a plastic cover

My phase 1 with a creamy coloured cloth interior has a mark which looks like something has been there in the past on the passengers side.
