They have been changed to Green ones, I think the standards were black, but I couldn't be sure.

What engines come with a 12T twin scroll from factory? And what's the max BHP you could see from one of these?

I've emailed the company I bought it from and they said its def. a B4194T2, as this was confirmed by a local garage when the clutch, timing belt and starter motor were changed; items were purchased from dealer not the work being done.

I did ask how this was confirmed by the dealer and what info they provided to check this? Especially if no covers were present! I'm thinking they just quoted the B419 etc number and the parts are the same on the engine I have too? Is that a possibility as they do look pretty similar and I think the gearboxes are the same and the cam belts too I’m sure, please confirm?

It went quiet after that and haven't heard back, I also told them the 12T fitted is not a standard B4194T2 turbo!

I'm now determined to find out what this is, but still uncertain, and 99% sure it isn't a B4194T2.

Once again help appreciated

It seems I do have a B4194T as I was told, so the twin scroll 12T (according to model number) must have been paired with it by mistake or used to replace a buggered 14T.

best get looking for a 16T now

Thanks to everyone that helped and posted, unfortunately this isn't the last you'll here from me........ have a few pipes I need identifying

Cheers

......far from wanting to throw a spanner in the works!!!!!...i have been looking at Vadis for about an hour and the B4194T and the B4194T2 develop the same bhp at the same revs and the comp. ratio etc. is the same BUT the B4194T is from `97 or `98 and `99 from 2000 it is the B4194T the difference is the internal moving parts, the conrods of the T2 are different and have a stronger fitting where the bearing cap is joining the two halves together than the T4 in other words they are weaker rods on the T2, from what i can gather from previous information read it is only the early T4 up to 1999 that has forged pistons the later ones do not.......the cover up to all this is the fact that as they are both 2litre blocks the engine numbers on the 1.8 non turbo volvo engine go up to something around 1275381 in `97 when the T4 takes over and goes to 1378407 which includes the T2 from 2000 on then the 2.0T block takes over the consecutive numbers, in other words it will NOT say T2 they all say T it`s the inside construction that says it`s a T2......although the T2 has the crankcase with the improved webs for better cooler oil circulation and also therefore the smaller engine cover it does have the lesser tuning capabilities of the forged internals of the earlier T4......SO.... i wouldn`t put a 16T turbo on that engine unless you know better, if you want to do that then take the engine to bits and check all the part numbers for the stressed components otherwise you may well end up with bents rods at only 250bhp instead of about 400bhp.........

If you're hunting a 16T, I've got one I've just taken off my built T4 engine... let me know

Hell, I've also got the whole engine available

Thanks for the info guys, I thought nearer the 300 mark was a common and regular point to tune to on either the B4194T or T2, from having a quick search on S40 concepts and a few other sites the 16T seems a popular mod and I thought I was playing it safe at 250 horsies! Hmmm, may have to do some more research.

Cheers for the heads up on the turbo, I’ve contacted the people I bought the engine etc from so waiting to see what they say, I’m hoping they will sort it out from their end tbh. but out of interest what you wanting it for? and what mods and power were you getting from the engine; PM if you'd prefer.

Thanks again guys and apologise at my little knowledge, if we were talking Jap i'd be all over it.

Can anyone enlighten me on this? I've had a look around the cambelt end, took the heat guard cover off and can't see any numbers and unfortunately some of the pics that have been posted I can't see.
