to be honest i wasnt to put off by the things it needed the only thing that bothered me was the cam belt situation as knowing my luck the bloody thing would go on me on way home.
i asked him if he was open to offers, told me he accepted a bid of £800 for but the guy backed out so now he wasnt willing to end the auction early and is ready to accept what ever the winning bid is, otherwise i would offered him £650-£700 max but not £800, the tax runs out in december as well |

Looks a nice car and from past experience its always best to walk away if in doubt. I think what you offered was a fair price.
Best of luck.

Those bits are easy to fix but will cost a couple of hundred pounds I recon. If the owner has skipped basic maintainance such as the cam belt then what else has been skipped? £800 is too much IMHO. That should get a really good example needing no immiediate work.

Bide your time and buy one your completley happy with. There are some really nice examples around, you just need to be patient. Theres certainly no need to buy a car your not 100% with.

thanks for the pep talk guys, i ve been looking for a few months now but your right not worth buying one im not 100% with so gonna bid my time. i dont have a daily driver at the moment, i only the firebird which is not an option for daily use. so it's becoming a pain using public transport, even going shopping with the missus is a task in itself. i never realised how dependant i was on my car until i gave it away. i wont ever do that again, what a wally !!!!

The dampers don't control the height ( Unless self leveling ones) the rear springs decide the height , all the dampers do is to damp the "bounce" ... A new set of springs should do the trick
