£400 is peanuts.....
What sort of rubbish transport can you buy for that?
I could source that all for half the price, or maybe you just fancy a change?!!!

I see this all the time, a vehicle needs a couple of hundred quid spent on it but the owner decides they are better spending thousands on a newer/different vehicle!!!

???? How does that work ?????

my new vehicle is cheaper than the repair costs and has an mot.....

its also still a volvo.

i could do a coilover conversion on the front , cheaper than new spring set , but i need a car to get to work in . if you can get me a windscreen for £25 id very much like to hear it.

high fast idle emissions , i can get that through
bulbs , no problem
front brakes imbalance , again no problem

engine making noises , difficult to get in 3rd gear sometimes , harsh ride , noisy , 20 mpg or less .

im financially pushed to get something else so i can get to work .

altho , recently on holiday , i toasted an audi tt !!! 4 up , it was a mastercard moment .

Windscreens are a pain. There isn't much stuff needed to fit them but you still have to get the new one and get the old one out.
I have had mine done but that was on the insurance fortunately.

How much is it to get one fitted I haven't even bothered to ask before ?

242 eh, that will be different ! I spotted one for sale but it was a bit crispy.
Shame you can't sort it out although if you keep it for a bit it might get a second chance, pics of 242 please !

Steve Curtis, with whom I put you in touch may be able to assist you getting the 242 back from Belgium.

Tell me more about coilovers? I thought they were hugely costly, whereas ghetto lowering is the price of a hacksaw blade...
