Which one
I can be! When you are setting it up turn it all the way down then run and increase one click at a time. Some mbc's work better then others and you may get the odd spike.Set it at 10psi and you'll quickly like the increased power. At 10psi you can quickly reach 70+ . The M cam lets you rev up to about 4000 revs so roughly 50 in 3rd. You definitely need a good tune up first before any performance increases though or things will quickly wear out.

Turbo boost gauge
Are you saying, basically speaking, that if I interrupt the small hose from the inlet manifold to the turbo and install a device(m b c) and a gauge that I can safely increase the power of my engine??
Sound so simple!!! Almost too simple!!! Please clarify and end the suspense. Does this mean running on the higher grade unleaded? Shaun |

Hi,
In a nutshell, yes. Fairly simplified version but yes.. Running higher octane fuel will also help, but until you get your ECU chipped it isn't wholly necessary.. Des. . .

Phew, If i need to spend much more on fuel I shall need to remortgage!!!
Seriously though, the better fuel might just help the performance If I have oversimplified ,what should be different?? Shaun Last edited by Profpriv; Apr 24th, 2010 at 22:07. Reason: additional text |

Hi,
In fact, if you fit Fred's chips into your ECU, there is a high possibility that you will actually be using less fuel per mile as well as having stonking performance. . . But your fuel usage shouldn't be dramatically changed by having a higher pressure for actuation, unless your start to enjoy your driving more.. Des. . .

Hi,
Given you have a turbo, shouldn't you also have an intercooler already? Fitting a B-I-G-G-E-R intercooler, now that would be different.. Des. . .

I guess so.
As I may(or may not) have said earlier,Im still finding my way around this turbo setup. As a plumber, I should be able to grasp it eventually.............. However, as a start, I think i will stick to the mbc and a gauge. Do you know od a decent A pillar pod supplier? Ive have a look online and they are all universal. Maybe thats OK.
