wasnt there something about the year of the car dictating different rates of tax?

I wonder if the same affects ULEZ? mine is compliant (2001 non turbo 2.4) which is surprising because it's not exactly what I would call economical. shocked to find i got 17mpg last week lol gonna try a week of not using the kickdown every 10 seconds and see if that makes it better

ULEZ for petrol cars is euro 3 - I'd have expected the V70R to be euro 3 if it was originally sold for the EU markets, would be surprised if the Japanese market models were any different.

If may well be something to do with the way imports are registered in the UK - I think the road tax rates are different & that might be connected to the ULEZ issue.

Is there anything in particular to look out for in terms of this imported model? eg is the spec the same as a UK one so parts shouldn't be too hard to find?

Any help/advice much appreciated.

thanks v much
Usual things to check on a Jap import are sun damage to the dashboard area which can cause cracks. Sun damage to the headlamps, discolouring the lenses.
Also, apparently, the Japanese do like a cigarette, so if like me you're smoker-phobic, ask before viewing !

If that's the case, and the car meets emissions standards, I've read somewhere that you can get it tested (at your expense), and have it classified as ULEZ compliant.

The other thing, appreciate not feasible for everyone, is stay the f out of London. Suggested having spent the last decade there.

Seconded by someone who lives in dagenham for nearly 40 years.. I don't have any pressing desire to drive into London either. The class of driver suddenly changes from normal human to total moron as you go past billingsgate market..

Tube all the way if/ when necessary
