I have never had a problem tying it down on mine.
The worst that happens are the exhaust fumes when stuck at the lights or in traffic. Other than that does it work to ask the other half or a friend to go with you in their car just in-case you need a bit more space? |

You can try using http://doesitfitinmycar.com/ Not sure it's how I would program it, but still will give some idea. Let us know the result! |

My Volvo was destroyed on the way back from Ikea, by a speeding and possibly drunk driver, but even though the rear end was mashed up badly, the flat pack stuff survived with no damage! Yeah for Volvo.

I recently had all of the following in my V70 if this helps. I just moved the front passenger seat forward instead of folding it flat though.

Assume the 'Yes it can' is in response to Scooser's R-Design comment tt82? I tried to fold my fromt passenger seat flat the other day for a big tip-run but it wouldn't go more than about 45 degrees down, can it go further? Intrigued as to how, it didn't seem to want to fold any more? Mine's a 2011 (MY12) if it matters...

Not 100% flat but it offers usable space.

Take 2 lengths of 3x2 timber and some ratchet straps with you.
I moved a sofa bed on the roof of the xc70 by laying the timbers across the roof rails and hoisting the sofa bed onto them. Well secured with 4 ratchet straps, 2 straight over 2 diagonally and drove the 5 mile trip at sensible speeds. Just shut the loose ends of the straps in the doors to stop them flapping about. Roof loading is 75kg, provided that's not exceeded and the load cannot move I see no problem if it won't fit inside the car. Paul. |

Have you not got the two levers on the base of the seat?
