The dash rattle does seem to have been fixed for me - I guess VCUK have figured out what fix(es) work by now. Interestingly, the rattle did not appear till the car was 4 months old.
Good luck with the cars - even with all the annoying faults, it is still a great car!

Yep, that's what I meant, thanks for letting us know. If it was a batch that didn't have it then it sounds like we won't need to get dealer to check.

Re dates, ordered 3 weeks ago and got an April 15th date.

Rang our dealer today and found out our XC90 Active D5 Geartronic in Oyster Grey Pearl is on the production line ! ! ! So it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get to the dealers now.

Ordered mid Dec and was told 6th or 10th March , Dealer said today that the 20th is the worst case, but she said it should be before that.

it wasnt so long ago that you bought your new volvo , it was built to your specification and delivered all within 2 weeks , before this recession and before fords influence got too embeded .

Other than the dash rattle which is an issue of plastic expanding as the car gets warmer the other thing to look for is the drivers side carpet. Make sure it doesn't come away from the sill as you step in. I am on a 2nd carpet and that is actually worse than the original. Also on the carpet it's worth checking that it is snug against the transmission tunnel on the drivers side too (near the footbrake).

The autolocking as you pull away is self-programmable from the centre console buttons.
