I also use the Halfords professional range as they are good quality and the lifetime guarantee gives peace of mind

This set retails at £50 but you find it on sale for £24.99 or £29.99 most of the time http://www.halfords.com/workshop-too...socket-set-1-4

Some of their tools are The spanners and socketry are and are excellent quality however id say the stahlwille set at 100 euros is a great buy had one for years use it most days at work fantastic German quality plus the sockets unlike many are very thin wall which is a big factor

As a ex-employee of Halfords, I can confirm that the pro range used* to be made in the same factory as the Draper 'Expert' stuff.

Good kit. At the bottom end of the 'Professional' stuff, but still good enough that you can get proper ratchet repair kits.

The lifetime guarantee covers everything except ratchet mechanisms and stupidity/abuse. That said, we were always told to give the benefit of the doubt when it came to warranty replacements, so provided you take the scaffold bar off the handle of the ratchet before returning it, you should be fine!

*Things may have changed since I left in C.2009.

The 200 piece set I have comes with ratchet spanners so I'm not sure what your point is.

Nothing really, just a bit of a joke.

I have 2 sets of "Draper Expert" 1/4 drive sockets and use them commercially every day. I don't abuse 1/4 drive stuff (well, not often...) and the ratchet handles are both fine with no skipping teeth or inability to reverse correctly, the usual signs they are about to need rebuilding or binning. Given the ease with which a 1/4 drive socket can disappear into a box section or just "disappear" I tend to buy medium quality rather than Snap On, Stahlwillie or Facom. Been very satisfied with these sets, they have lasted far better than I could have hoped for.
