Do you honestly think that if it was that easy car manufacturers would not have them fitted as standard by now? C'mon now.

but if you read the blurb that comes with magnets they enabled spitfires to fly to berlin and back on a thimble full of 4 star !

Hey!!! hold on here Guys, working the Gas Industry as I did fer Far too many years it is a "Sound" Theory this (& by the way IS USED Extensively in Plant room where HUGE amounts of Gas is used ect)

the Magnets "Straighten" out the flow of the Ion's within the Gas/Petrol fuel lines & there-by give a Smoother flow of fuel in to the Burning Chamber (be it Gas Burners or Petrol engines)

A very easy way to understand it is as follows (i used to use this explanation on many Lectures) ......

Pour Water into a glass from approx 6 inches high & notice how the Bubbles are "Random" (jiggling about all over the place to get to the top of the glass)

Now open a Bottle of Lemonade & watch the Bubbles .... they travel to the top of the bottle in STRAIGHT LINES.......

This is how the Magnets work on Gas / Petrol flow ... you get a much SMOOTHER flow of Ions to the point of Combustion making the Fuel flow Smoother & therefore a far better CONTINUOUS Fuel flow & therefore a better "Response" from your Engine ect ect......

Does it "Save Fuel" ??? YES IT DOES (But only about a PIN HEAD Worth in every 100 or so miles)

Does it make your Engine run Smoother / Cleaner ???? UNDOUBTEDLY YES IT DOES (ESPECIALLY ON A DIESEL ENGINE where AIR can be problematical in the Fuel lines.)

Thanks Keith for a great explanation.

If a magnet were to be used, how long (distance) would it be before they returned back to random?

Also once the fuel enters the injectors surely it gets all jumbled up again?

Not picking fault just interested as these 2 points alone must be proven somehow.

This explanation for how these magnets could work is untethered from any standard scientific understanding. For one thing there aren't any ions in hydrocarbon fuels. Hydrocarbons do not ionize.

If there were ions, any forces from the motion of the ions in the magnetic field would be perpendicular to the direction of motion of the ions and perpendicular to the magnetic field, so one cannot see any way a magnet would straighten the path of the ions.
