Hello Gatos,
I am very sad that you were treated like this but then when involved with people out side your own front door then this is what can happen.

Human nature always seems to say one is better than the other and some don`t like it although they are being helped and what`s more they asked for the help!......also according to the person`s nature if something can be fiddled it will be!

At least look at it this way, it has happened now so be alert to others although it may not be your own way in life to be like that you have to, to save your own emotions or frustration with others.

Don`t let it affect what you do with spares as you earn and learn and the help to other Forum users is paramount.

I know what you feel as "me" probably most of all members have a go at just because i can`t explain myself properly and put my foot in it and it does hurt as you only are trying to help others,

......."so pick your self up, brush yourself down, and start all over again."......

Keith

Thanks for all the replies guys (and girls). Nothing has changed for me personally. I will still be the same person and continue as normal. I am not beating myself about it or worry about the money. I have better things to worry about. I was just annoyed last night, as I was packing this part for another member to use as a temporary fix when I realized the damage. I don't like letting people down and that's what happened last night as well as coming to the realization that I've been duped. Life moves on so lets move on

Sorry to hear this mate. Have you spoke to the person invlolved to see what they say? Is it possible the part was damaged during posting? Like you I always like to think there may be a reasonable explanation and nobody would do this on purpose.

To date, I have had 3 items I've sent and that were broken in transit. All 3 times, I've refunded the whole amount including postage without hesitation. Anyway item was collected by the said member as well as the replacement. So, no, there was no chance. And the damage is within the part and impossible to break, unless if someone installed it on the car wrongly and run the car.

I can't be bothered even talking to that person as it is my word against theirs and it's been sometime since this happened. Life moves on and in the long term it will be their loss, not mine. I have broken even breaking the said car, so money is not the issue. It is the fact that someone can be so dishonest in my face.....

Its annoying and upsetting although wouldn't let it get you down.

I have found this throughout life, that when you 'bend over backwards to help' people they sometimes do not return the good deed, and one gets upset and thinks 'why do I bother'. Set against this I find that the other good people that I have assisted that have appreciated my 'bending over backwards to help' more than make up for the annoyance about the others. So I continue.....although with open eyes.

Regards

Default The moral high ground

Gatos

I joined this forum two years ago as I had just acquired a V40 and was having some minor issues. I had already been a Volvo owner for 13 years but it was a 940 which never went wrong so didn't even know the forum existed.

I have learned so much about my car(s) in that time especially from reading your posts and 'how to' guides that I am without doubt a 'net receiver'. On that basis may I formally thank you for the contributions you have made to date and hope that you will continue long into the future.

I have also learned lots and lots about people through the lounge and other forums, witnessing some fairly polarised opinions and vitriolic comments exchanged. On that basis may I formally thank you again for occupying the moral high ground by not 'naming and shaming', in the hope that other members (including this individual) might follow in the example you have given.

Even when you let off steam, people end up better for it. Sometimes, clicking the 'thanks' button doesn't quite do it justice.

Alex it's a shame we all on re are grateful for our input as the same as everyone elses inputs aswell, there are a few regulars on here that everyone knows and trust there opinions and parts.....what a shame, your alot better then me as I'm sure you know I'd defiantly name and shame just to let 'the regulars' know, but then that's me, as you say what goes around comes back around with revenge.......

Thumbs up Nice One

Hi Alex, sorry to hear about your experience with this individual. Some people are takers and others are givers. You give your knowledge, experience and you let people have parts at very reasonable prices or even free. It is diabolical that someone should take advantage of your good nature in this way.
But their comeuppance is coming as I expect a part or two will be required in the future and they can't approach you any more.
I like your style.
