Very good point on them. I had a good look at the Haldex when it was up on the ramps after I bought it and there was fresh looking oil on it. Looked like it had been overfilled (certainly hoping it was the case) recently. Had a specialist Volvo dude look over it since and he didn't gave any concerns about it. The car looks like it was VERY well looked after before I bought it so it wouldn't surprise me if it had been done. Even so, I've got no history so I just treat everything to be 15 years old.

Bevel gear and diff didn't even occur to me... Didn't even realise bevel gear had its own supply. I'll add these to the list of things to do over the next year or so. Thanks very much.

Off to a friends house tonight who has way too much money. He was debating buying some ramps for his new garage last year... Might use this opportunity to push him in the right direction. The fact he owes me many automotive favours and I need to spend time under my car is entirely circumstantial!

Oily bits, fuel filter and coolant ordered.

Will probably pick up a new cabin filter from euro car parts when I go and grab distilled water. Car came with a k&n air filter which I cleaned fairly recently.

Gearbox oil and other bits will have to wait until spring. Think I've got more than enough winter jobs to keep me going until then. Will probably do them on the next oil change.

Just need to find time to get it all done now.

FYI whenever I ordered a cabin filter for my v70 from Euro Car Parts they have provided the wrong one. So if possible I would recommend taking your old one with you to the shop.

Thanks for the info. Luckily I have a mate that works there and can pick bits up for me (if I order them). I'll try it in the pub car park and if it doesn't fit she can take it back.... And buy her own beer
