Kevin;
If Fixed Instrument Lights (at "Heater Control Lighting") work, and Variable Inst Lights ("Instrument" and "Gear Indicator Lighting") do not, just try turning Lighting Knob...an intermittent Variable control is a common condition. For details and repair options, see: http://www.sw-em.com/Intermittent_Va...t_Lighting.htm Good Hunting! |

Found the problem a broken live feed wire and not actually where I had been working so coincidences do happen sometimes. Dash lights do work now Ron has mentioned turning the light switch, hadn't occurred to me that Volvo would be so clever.
Fuse position 3 is now clearer and my lack of electrical aptitude had not made me think that maybe the fuse would only be live if the lights were switched on!! I know stupid but there we go. All is now well and thanks to everyone particularly Ron for their expertise in trying to educate the almost uneducateable (If that's a word). |
