hey there, I dont think all GDI are bad, i have a 1998 V40 GDI full service history and one owner, and it works amazing.. Super smooth, good on fuel and a pleasure to drive...
but like they all said it must have good service history, and you must look after it as well... luke |

that's kinda good news i think thats the first positive comment on them i have heard! my mum drives a mitsubishi with a gdi engine and that has always been a good runner...

cheers some intresting reading in their... sounds like for the sort of driving i do a gdi is probably worth avoiding anyway... found another v40... it's a 1997 1.8 with 56miles on the clock fsh... for 1750.. not sure of the spec yet thought... if it's nice i might be tempted..
