Laugh you may but a Halfords battery has yet to let me down.

A Yuasa Professional is one of the best batteries you can get. All car batteries are coded and the correct battery for the V70 is an 096.

Just had a look at the battery in the car, it's a D075 60Ah?

Can you get different 'Ah' specs of 096 or are all 096 batteries the same specs?

They can be different - the main requirement is the size and terminal format. There may be a minimum Ah and CCA requirement for the type but I haven't seen any documentation about that. I'll do some digging around - you've got me wondering now

What sort of discount did you get with your trade card on a battery, i havent used mine for a battery but for other stuff its worth its weight in gold (trade card) MASSIVE MASSIVE discounts on servicing parts, i dont know how they can do it, the difference in retail and their trade price is unbelievable

Just been to my local garage and they offered an 096 Exide for £70. I'm happy with that I think. I'll get one on Friday... payday

Strangely when I first got my V70 (almost 2 years ago), it had a duff battery on it. So as a temporary measure I chucked a month old battery off an MGF I just happened to be breaking at the time, onto it!
It's still on there and performing well!
