I hadn't thought of that that the tracking etc may be out, it would cause that especially if it's toeing in iirc, you'll get to a point where the tyre effectively wants to tuck itself under itself at the bottom.

To answer my own earlier question on the actual alignment specs- i had a look on vida, and it pointed me at a TSB....

with multiple wheel alignments and suspension refreshes over the years it still dose this .after all how often dose a car spend on full lock . and dose it really matter if it pulls in . i think it a design flaw that most folk never discover

Lol no, it was massively out of alignment and destroyed the tyres in about 15 miles.

Lots of responses on here and theories, thank you guys.

It turned out the alignment was just massively out, it's all good now.

I appreciate the used shocks were a gamble, but it's not amazingly easy to find P2 XC70 dampers in the UK and I have not had the best luck with aftermarket struts on other cars.

It ruined the tyres in about 15 miles, couldn't be left as it was.

wow had you re assembled some thing wrong ? shredding tires is a drastic miss alignment do you have a print out that shows how and what the problem was . can you post the figures up?

Heavy cars do naturally pull to the camber but you have to judge when it's drifting and when it's going full auto.
