If they ever replace the current model V60 with a new model styled like the new V90 then one of them.

I always intended to hang onto the C70 for as long as possible, so I'm rather hoping that there isn't going to be a 'next' car in the foreseeable future. It would be nice if Volvo were to come up with a folding hardtop replacement for the C70, perhaps based on the Concept coupe? I don't imagine that's going to happen though. In which case, if it came to it, I'd consider a good used C70 D4 on a 12, 62 or 13 plate.

I've been giving some serious thought to a Mazda CX5. I've yet to try one but it seems to get generally good reviews except for the wind and road noise, important issues for me. Not that my V50 doesn't have road noise issues. Most estate owners seem to think that SUVs are too bloated but at least the CX5 is about the same length as a V50 but with more load space.

Not many people intending to stay with Volvo then?
I'm delaying a decision until the XC40 appears - it looks like my sort of wagon. I do wonder whether these newer, complicated models are going to give 2nd and 3rd owners some trouble! There is a lot to go wrong. |

In terms of length it's basically the same length as my S40 side-by-side, I've been a passenger in it on long journeys and I've found it very quiet.

After being a devoted Volvo owner for years, I will definitely getting a BMW 1 series to replace my C30. I like the new V40, but Volvo have recently announced that they will be expanding production to China for global export.
https://www.media.volvocars.com/glob...china-strategy I'm perfectly happy to have my phone and laptop made there, but my car is a big no no. Especially if it's supposed to be an eco-friendly forest hugging premium car which Volvo is, and what's green about building and shipping cars from China? Bad move, Volvo. |

I bought a 2007 V50 2.0D SE (pre facelift) this time last year for Mrs Tannaton to replace her Kia Ceed. The neighbors thought we'd hit hard time when we got rid of a 10-plate car and replaced it with a 57-plate one (which I spent 6 weeks overhauling...).
But she loves it, it's very comfortable, nice to drive, and surprisingly more economical than the 1.6 Diesel Kia it replaced (especially now I've blanked the EGR). It's been faultlessly reliable for 22,000 miles, it now has 133k on it. I just wish she'd stop hitting things with it. I plan to keep it for another 40-50k miles or such point that it is no longer reliable. Anyhow back to the question - I would really like to replace it with 55-plate XC70 (facelift model but last of the 163 BHP engines and manual gearbox). Just about everything you could want from a (non-performance) car.

XC60 is built on the same platform as the Discovery Sport so no reason why it couldn't be expanded to have 7 seats. Not sure how useful the ones in the Disco are as its a really low roof. Even the ones in the new XC90 have a height limit
