  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Appreciate that My post was referring to the original poster of this topic, who is 31! He should have no reason to have a "black box" fitted to his car. regardless of NCB or not, £1600 quote for a Volvo S40 is taking the urine somewhat!

I was using temporary insurance so I didn't have much time to sort out insurance. I did get a bunch of quotes, including Elephant IIRC, and only Endsleigh came somewhat close.

I don't mind having a black box attached to the car (it isn't visible). It is the same logic as using supermarket loyalty cards - they know about your purchasing habits in exchange for discounts etc. And yes, if you are a safe driver you get a further discount on your premium. And if you're really paranoid about being tracked, then APNR exists everywhere and your MNO knows almost exactly where your mobile is, not that it is a reason to give up another slice of privacy.

Personally I am more worried about government sponsored censorship and control of the internet.

Also, as you have some sort of access to your stats, it could even help make me a safer driver.

Oh and finally, it isn't tracking in realtime.
