57RKL, yeah I kind of want to keep it but I bought a '97 940 and can't run both. If it doesn't get what I would like for it then no worries, I'll just give it to my parents.
A few additions to the advert: Car will come with plastic load bay liner (uncracked), load cover, and dog guard. (assuming it fits the 740). Price reduced to £1800 ono. Last edited by baggy798; Feb 17th, 2012 at 00:15. Reason: pic error |

With the greatest will in the world, I think you will struggle to sell for that price.
I am a fan of the 740, and owned quite a few in my short time on here, and whilst I (and probably many others on here) can appriciate the time and effort gone into it, in that it doesn't have the usual 740 pitfalls, and generally looks very clean. Unfortunatly even with the M90 and other bits and bobs, at £1,900, the price is far too high. At £1,650, its still far too high, especially when you look halfway down the forum and see another 740 turbo for sale, and granted, its not as nice as yours, but then again its less than half the price at £800. Jo public wont appriciate the time and effort gone into your 740 either, they will just see it as an old volvo. If you really want to sell it, try putting it on ebay, with a £,200 reserve, and just see how high the bidding goes. This will give you an indication of what it could potentially sell for. I dont want my comments to offend, and by all means this post can be removed if it offends, but if you really want to sell it, your going to have to re-think the price. It might be better for you to keep it and look after it, given the time and effort that you have personally put into it

Nice looking car pity its had the speedo changed instead of re setting,,this can be done reasonably priced,,, i notice its been debadged at rear once again a big mistake as most of us into 740ties like the car to be correct when showing at car club meets.price wise a bit steep i would have thought around1000to 1200poundsis my thinking..And why change the 4speed ZF auto box nothing wrong with them,My 1987 is all original with 105000 on the clock and i certainly would not sell my car if i intended for less than 11000pounds..good luck with the sale but remember its a buyers market people will only pay what they think its worth..regards sunnyvic

Manual 740 turbo's have always been more desirable than auto's. Look at how many on T bricks forums get converted from auto to manual
That said, i'm getting old! prefer auto's nowadays

James no argument with you but it depends on a persons choice,i have driven manual and auto ,but over the last 30 odd years i have changed to autos out of necessety left leg problems unfortunately and i much prefer the lazy relaxed way of driveing but as i said each to there own..re sunnyvic

Not at all easy to find a clean 740 Turbo now. I think £1300 is fair, given the M90 swap, but I'd be looking out for a taller axle.
cheers James

Bump. Price reduced to £1200. It won't be going any lower than that.
