I think the options are as follows
1. If the clutch is working fine leave it, if it fails deal with it (issues you will always be doing trips with that nagging feeling you may not actually arrive) 2. Buy a thrust bearing for a Sachs, find out its a Borg and Beck clutch( or Vikky Verka) Chances are it will be wrong and you need the other type and you will have clutch problems. 3. Buy the two different TB and pass onto the garage- confident they will fit the right one.... 4. Buy a four piece clutch have it fitted in confidence and all rotating assemblies work together Personally it would be option 4 for me with option 1 a possible if funds are tight and an understanding missus accepts being stuck on a back road in the middle of the night! |

Forum;
I found this (older) thread while I was looking for a picture I recall, comparing Release Bearing height differences between B&B and F&F Clutches...unfortunately...no picture in this thread..does anyone on this forum remember that picture...if so can they repost or post a link...I need to add this to my Clutch Notes... Thanks |

It really is a piece of cake , my record was 55 mins to do a clutch change on a 122 S.. including lifting the box in and out on my own .. Todays volvos take 6-8 hours minimum and sometimes into the next day as you have to dismantle the front end of the car , ...

When doing a clutch there are 5 parts to replace
release bearing, pressure plate friction plate pilot bearing (spigot) Rear Crank seal I always do all of that list as part of doing a clutch change |

Kay; Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks, and a virtual Weissbier to you!
Clan; 55 minutes for a Clutch replacement! Compliments! I don't think I could beat that time! Derek; If these are you pictures, I request permission to republish on the SW-EM site. Cheers |
