That's just telling you that the maximum load for a fully coiled lead is 4amps. i.e. the heating will not be sufficient to cause the cable to overheat, whereas a 13 amp load will cause the coiled cable to overheat, so must be used uncoiled.

My only wish is that the provided 3-pin cable was longer than 4.5m.
Given the car is 4.7m long, and appreciating that not many users are going to have an external socket right beside their car, I would have thought it reasonable to provide a 7.5m cable instead. Such a short cable almost encourages drivers to use an extension cable despite what Volvo say. |
