Well I don't want to celebrate too soon, but I think I might have finally resolved the problem. The creaking has gone (for now).
I will update this thread again after a week or so, but this might be useful for someone else at some point if it works long term. I removed all the boost pipes etc to get a clear view of the bell housing. Pulled back the fork boot and compressed the slave cylinder using a pump clamp behind the fork. ![]() Located the plastic fork cup with my bore scope and flicked it off the pivot using a screwdriver (clipped so requires some effort). As you can see it looks like it was assembled dry. ![]() Packed a syringe with the correct Moly grease and cable tied a small plastic hose to the end. ![]() Squirted the grease over the pivot and inside of cup. I applied very little, so may add some more at the weekend. ![]() Clip the cup back on to the pivot using a screwdriver. ![]() Carefully release the clamp and then reassemble. Thanks
![]() So far so good. The pedal can feel a touch gritty when hot, but it's nothing like before and I have no nasty noises. A touch more grease will probably resolve that. |
