It certainly is a pain when expectantly you run to the car in pouring rain to get in and drive to work and find an ankle deep puddle of water on the floor.

But more so because it took so long to completely dry out. I've had leaks in other cars before and a few towels later and running the AC with a heater on as well they are dry and non smelly over a weekend.
This 850 with its carpet and then barrier membrane and 10mm of yellow foam took over a week to dry out completely involving propping up with timber and hair dryers, leaving the door open to get circulation and a day of running the Ac as well.

There's a drain plug rubber grommet in the floor pan which I pulled out to get the water out quickly but as you say the drying out process can be lengthy.

ss2115. Just a thought. Could the AC drain be plugged? Any water that gets into the cabin air system is supposed to flow out of that drain. If you 850 does not have a cabin air filter, I suggest finding a filter holder and filter and adding it to your car.
