I've tried all three methods - direct install; virtual machine; and bootable USB and they all work fine.

VIDA is only for Volvo cars, and those up to 2014 or 2015.

This is the best resource I've found for VIDA downloads: https://volvodiag.com/
Tks for the reply , I do have a windows 10 machine but I know nothing about vm or what it is lol hence me considering purchasing a laptop with vida allready installed and working

Also worth noting that you can isolate a VM from the host's network too (disconnect the vNIC from either Windows/*NIX, or the hypervisor itself) so you can still use a VM and be safe from updates etc (this is what I do, esp as I have a few different manufacture's software, and it saves having one laptop per car ).

Something like this, for example: https://ccm.net/apps-sites/software/...k%20on%20OK%20.

It’s all ready to go yes. Vida and lap top. That’s how I bought it. Came with some really good idiot proof written instructions too.
