Andrew;

Congrats...she looks great!...very similar to mine (but your is a RHD obviously)...and from the styling clues, a '66...that means you have a hydraulic pressure sensing brake light switch...so pleeeaase assure that your brake lights work well in a normal driving situation (gentle pedal application resulting in a slow pressure rise), not a garage test jab (where they always seem fine...because during a non-moving test, pressure rises quickly and closes the electrical contact...no one would want to ride with you if you braked like that on the road).

The point is that you may want to keep her rear end from being rearranged by someone who doesn't see your brake lights. Please consider an early acting, absolutely totally reliable upgrade to a pedal position sensing brake light switch. See: http://www.sw-em.com/hydraulic%20bra...es%20notes.htm

Cheers from Connecticut!

** Full Disclosure: I do sell them **

Are you guys going to the Kimbolton Country Fayre on 13 July? It sounds like a good number of Volvo 1800 and Amazons will be there.

Andy,
I tis well worth getting the carbs and ignition set up well. There are many views how best done.
Personally I used a specialist tuner with rolling road near me in Bletchley. Having set the car up last summer, I have done a 1,500 mile trip to France, and now another 1,500 mile trip to the Scottish Highlands and Skye. Still running sweetly. Off to the le Mans Classic in 3 weeks.
