As car insurance is mandatory, we should pay insurance according to a publicly available table - same as car tax. No car insurance companies. No competition, just open pricing with legally binding T&Cs with an arbitrator who really is independent.
It would be nice, but there are way too many oddities and differences between each car, person, family, area, etc for it to work in a fair manner.

I suppose they could have risk codes for each area... percentages / risk factors for each person..age, sex, experience, etc.. as well as factors for the cars...

But then, wouldnt it just be like what we've got now - but a little more clearer? I dont think we'd gain anything really

That is nothing to boast about, I can tell you...

Norwich Union were my insurers when I was whacked by a Ready-Mix lorry (photos in my gallery).
Their "approved repairer" did the botch job on my car (needed 2 repaints following inspection! Along with other things..)

Also they were none to happy about my keeping my NCB and wanted the issue settled "knock-for-knock".. Not bl#$dy likely!!
Turned out that Ready-Mix were also insured by them so they didn't give a hoot about me!

Took a couple of months to get a letter from them confirming that the issue was settled in my favour and that I retained my NCB and protected NCB..

Des. . .

740Estate - have you been onto confused.com

I find them quite good and looking at the situation could potentially half my renewal come september. Could possibly be £330 and thats with my 745 B230E at 21 with only 1NCB
